Use Cases related to Plant Configuration Specification
The Plant Configuration Specification is applied to the following structure:
In the above structure note the following:
Plant 1 and Plant 2 are assigned to respective Parts.
Part 2 B.1 is the revised version of Part 2 A.1. Part 2 A.1 and Part 2 B.1 have Effectivity 1 and Effectivity 2 respectively. There is similar effectivity assignment for the two versions of Part 4, Part 7 and Part 9.
No plant is assigned to Part 5 and Part 10.
In the following use cases, (part master) appears in the part structure when there is no part version that meets the plant configuration specification criteria.
*
When applying the Plant Configuration Specification filter, you must also add the Latest configuration specification. The Plant Configuration Specification criteria should be added first, as shown in the image below.
Use Case 1
Plant Configuration Specification Criteria: Plant 1
The Apply to top level object check box is cleared
Result
The Plant Configuration Specification applies from the top to the bottom. Plant 1 is assigned to Subassembly 1 and Part 1 . Part 2 A.1 and Part 2 B.1 satisfy the criteria. However, as effectivity is not the criteria, the latest version of the part, Part 2 B.1 appears. Subassembly 2 has Plant 2 assigned to it which does not satisfy the plant configuration specification criteria. There is no traversing through the child parts of Subassembly 2. Subassembly 2 appears with (part master).
Use Case 2
Plant Configuration Specification Criteria: Plant 2, Effectivity 2.
The Apply to top level object check box is not cleared.
Result:
Only Assembly 1 appears. The subassemblies and their child parts do not satisfy the criteria for the Plant Configuration Specification.
Use Case 3
Plant Configuration Specification Criteria 1: Plant 2, Effectivity 1
Plant Configuration Specification Criteria 2: Plant 2
The Apply to top level object check box is not cleared.
Result:
Here the previous version of the part 7, Part 7 A.1, satisfies the plant configuration specification criteria. Part 7 A.1 appears.
