Smart Collection Information Page
The information page for a smart collection provides tools for managing information associated with a smart collection. The page has menu actions and tabs, Details and Content tabs, for managing information about the smart collection. On the Actions menu, you can perform a variety of actions on the structure.
Actions Menu
Information pages contain a list of menu actions available from the upper left area of the page. For smart collection, the following actions are of particular interest:
Action
Description
Open In
Select Open in > Open in BOM Transformer from the menu. The BOM Transformer opens and displays the trimmed structure based on the parts you have added to the smart collection.
Revise
Select this action to create a new revision for a smart collection. When you revise a smart collection, the revision is moved to the next revision label, for example, from A to B. For more information, see Object Versions.
Considerations:
You must have access to revise a smart collection.
You can also revise a smart collection on the folder browser page, search results page, and Windchill home page.

If you revise a smart collection on Windchill home page, the system takes you to the information page of the revised smart collection.
At a time, you can revise a single smart collection on the smart collection information page. However, you can revise multiple smart collections on the folder browser page.
Save As
Select to create a new configuration. The functioning of this action is different than the common Save As action in Windchill. For more details, click Using Save As in Smart Collection.
Set State
Select to set the life cycle state of an object. For more details, click Setting a Life Cycle State.
Reset Team
Select to modify permissions on the team template, to reset the team template for a smart collection. The Reset Teamaction is visible only when you associate an advanced life cycle to a smart collection. For more details, click Resetting a Team Template.
Reassign Life Cycles
Select to change the life cycle template and the state of a smart collection. For more details, click Reassign Life Cycles.
Rename
Select to rename a smart collection.
Manage Department Information
Select to specify the plant that you want to edit.

The above actions are available when you right-click a smart collection in the folders page.
Content Tab
The Upstream and Downstream sections of the Contents tab display the following information:
The parts that were added from the upstream and downstream views respectively
The equivalent link status of the parts in the smart collection
The parent part identity of the parts added from the upstream and downstream views
The current filter values for the upstream and downstream views

Refresh the information page to view the latest equivalent status.
The parts from upstream and downstream views are displayed in the same row if they are equivalent. If the equivalent part is not added to the smart collection, the corresponding row in the other section is appears blank.
If you add parts only from the upstream view, the Downstream section in the Contents tab is not displayed and vice– a–versa.
Use Manage Structure Views to add part attributes in the Upstream and Downstream sections of the Contents tab.
Using a Featured Objects List in Smart Collection
The intent of the featured objects list is to display only those parts that are likely to be of value or use to you. Click to add the object to the as featured list.
Click > Featured Objects View to view all the featured parts in a smart collection.
Click > Default to view all the parts in a smart collection.
