Reassign Life Cycles
The Reassign Life Cycles action is available to administrators working from a Windchill PDMLink context.
This action allows you to change both the life cycle template and the state for a part or document.
1. Perform one of the following actions:
From the Folder Contents table of a product or library, select Reassign Life Cycles from the right-click actions menu of an object.
Navigate to the object information page and select Actions > Reassign Life Cycles.
2. From the Reassign Life Cycle window, select one of the following values under Life Cycle Selection:
Use latest iteration of current Life Cycle template
Keep the life cycle currently assigned to the object.
Use Life Cycle template selected by object initialization rule
Assign the life cycle defined in the object initialization rule for the object. This is the same life cycle that was assigned when the object was created.
Select new Life Cycle template

3. Under State Selection, select one of the following options:

The life cycle remains in its current state.
If you have selected a new life cycle template with different phases, those phases are used when moving the object to a new state.
Use initial state of Life Cycle template
Changes the state to the initial state of the selected life cycle.
Select starting state
Select the state of the life cycle in which you want the object to start.
