Additional Information
Project > Project
When you use the clipboard to exchange objects between projects, you can specify if a copied object is read-only or editable by members of another project. You can also copy an object that has been shared or checked out from PDM from one project to another.
Project > Program
Sharing not allowed
You can use the clipboard to copy project objects into a program folder as a link or as a new object. However, you cannot share an object to a program.
Project > PDM
You can use this action on two types of objects:
Objects created in PDM and checked out to a project.
Objects created in the project context.
The object is added to the product or library baseline. You can then decide whether to share or check out the object back to the project.
Program > Project
When you use the clipboard to exchange objects between projects, you can specify if a copied object is read-only or editable by members of another project. You can also copy an object that has been shared or checked out from PDM from one project to another.
PDM > Project
Copy
You can initiate the Add to Project action by selecting Actions > Add to Project or by copying PDM objects and pasting them into project folders.
When you click Paste, the Add Objects to a Project window opens.
PDM > PDM
Sharing not allowed
To exchange data between PDM contexts, you can use the Move action or the Windchill clipboard.
The objects that you add to a project or send to PDM can also have dependencies. Dependencies are objects that describe or relate to the primary object (for example, a component in an assembly or a drawing of a part). When you perform the Add to Project and Send to PDM actions, you are prompted to specify how to handle any dependencies in the Collect Objects and Set Options table.
For information on removing objects that have been added a project, see Deleting Projects or Shared Objects.
