Moving Parts Lists
You can move a parts list or a part to a new location in a product or library, depending on configured permissions.
The Move action is available in these locations:
1. In the Actions menu and the shortcut menu in the Folders page
2. In the Actions menu in the Structure tab of the Parts List Editor
Each of these actions opens the Move window. Refer to Moving an Object for information on using this window to move the parts list and any related objects, if applicable.
Refer to Collecting Objects Associated with Parts Lists for information on including objects related to the parts list in a Move action.
The following items will be included in the Move action as a default:
Links to parts associated with a parts list item by a Substitute relationship
Refer to Managing Substitute Parts for information.
Links to parts linked to a parts list item by a Supplementary Replacement relationship
Managing Supplementary Parts for information.
Graphic dynamic document (GDD) and illustration — the most current GDD and illustration are retained
See Creating Parts List Representations for information.
Any applicability (ATO and Service Effectivity) settings configured for parts list items and any parts associated with them with these relationships will be retained when the parts list is moved.
Applicability settings configured for the illustrations in a parts list will also be retained.
To include a parts list’s downstream linked objects in the Move action if Windchill MPMLink is not installed (and Windchill Service Parts is installed), choose the Collect downstream linked objects button Collect downstream linked objects in the Move window’s toolbar.
To include a part’s downstream equivalent part in the Move action if Windchill MPMLink is not installed (and Windchill Service Parts is installed), choose the Collect downstream equivalent part button in the Move window’s toolbar.
