Modify Classification Constraints
To add, remove, or modify classification constraints, the node must be in edit mode.
Some constraint rules require no additional data. Other constraint rules need data specified to define the behavior of the constraint.
*
When editing constraints, note the following:
Only New constraints that are created on an attribute can be edited or removed. Modeled or Inherited constraints cannot be edited.
If the constraint is a global enumeration, you must modify values using the Type and Attribute Management utility. For more information, see Managing Global Enumerations.
For unwanted global enumeration entries that have already been used within the system, it is better to disable the entry rather than delete it. For more information, see Deleting an Entry.
The values for a floating point range with units, floating point set with units, or integer set with units constraint are based on the current display units for the attribute. If the display units are changed, the values are converted to the equivalent values using the new units.
For example, if you enter a constraint of 2 < value < 4 for an attribute currently being expressed in centimeters, the constraint is really “2 cm < value < 4 cm.” If you later change the display units for the attribute to inches, the constraint is converted to “.787 in < value < 1.57 in.”
More detailed information is available from the Type and Attribute Management utility help: Constraints Tab
1. From the node information page, select Actions > Edit to enter edit mode.
2. Navigate to the attribute information pane and select the Constraints tab.
3. Perform one of the following actions:
Click the add icon to create a new constraint. For more information, see Add Constraints.
To remove a constraint, select the checkbox next to the constraint and click the delete icon on the Constraints table toolbar.
To disable the constraint, clear the checkbox under the Enable? column.
To modify the constraint value, enter a new value under the Data column or click the edit icon . For more information, see one of the following topics:
