Adding an Existing Child Part
To add an existing child part to a part structure:
1. In the Structure pane or Uses tab, select the part in the structure directly above where you want to insert an existing part.
2. Select Insert Existing from the toolbar or right-click actions menu.
The Insert Existing Part window opens.
3. Search for one or more existing parts to insert into the part structure. You can enter additional search criteria in the appropriate attribute fields.
Parts matching the search criteria appear in the search results table in the window.
For a definition of common part attributes, see Part Attributes.
4. Select OK.
The existing parts are inserted into the structure directly below the part initially selected.
5. If desired, verify changes in the structure using theVisualization tab.
*
By default, newly added parts are assumed to not participate in the build process. If you wish to add this new part to the corresponding CAD document structure, then you must perform the Set for Build action
