Overview
The Windchill Gateway for Cadence Allegro Design Workbench (ADW) enables the synchronization of part metadata between Allegro Design Workbench and Windchill. This Gateway can be configured to:
1. Bulk load Allegro Design Workbench Component Library data into Windchill.
2. Import and export component metadata between Windchill and Allegro Design Workbench.
3. Integrate Library synchronization methods between Windchill and Allegro Design Workbench into Windchill Part Request workflow.
Data synchronization allows the ECAD Librarian to create Windchill and/or library objects if they are not present in the systems, and to change Windchill and/or library object attribute (parameter) values when the corresponding values are changed in Windchill or in the library.
The Windchill Gateway for Cadence Allegro Design Workbench is an adapter that allows Windchill to drive and manage component part information in Allegro Design Workbench. It makes ECAD library data such as symbol names visible in Windchill enabling powerful user reports.

In Windchill 11.0, Windchill Gateway for Cadence Allegro Design Workbench does not support a star-like architecture. Only one library can be linked to a single Windchill server.

The Allegro Design Workbench Library is a library development and management environment that enables ECAD librarians to create, validate, manage, and distribute ECAD libraries and their associated part metadata for use with Allegro PCB Editor and Allegro PCB SI.
