Using PA Agent to Send Data to PTC
The Performance Advisor agent transports diagnostic data from Servigistics Service Parts Management to the Servigistics Performance Advisor. You can launch the PTC System Monitor installer to install the Performance Advisor agent. For more information, refer to Chapter 4 in the PTC System Monitor Installation and Deployment guide.
You can configure the Performance Advisor Agent to collect the diagnostic data directly from your Servigistics server, and send it to the Servigistics Performance Advisor dashboards using two methods—Rest API and Shared folder.

Navigate to the Performance Advisor Agent installation location, and in the pa_agent_conf.xml file, perform any one of the following:
REST API: Specify values for the following tags:
reportURL: Specify the full URL for your Servigistics server.
reportUserName: Specify the user name to access the report.
reportPassword: Specify the password to access the report.
After authentication, all the above parameters are encrypted. In this method, the reports are not pre-created and stored at any location. Instead, the Performance Advisor Agent makes a REST call using the REST URL and user credentials, to instantly generate reports from the Servigistics server. The generated reports too are not stored on the Servigistics Service Parts Management and Servigistics Service Parts Pricing servers. The Performance Advisor Agent then sends the reports to the Servigistics Performance Advisor dashboards. The Rest API method is more secure, and is therefore recommended.
Shared Folder: In the <folderAccessibleForAgent> tag, provide the location of the diagnostic data reports.
In this method, the servigistics.performance.advisor.sync.folder WebUI and AutoPilot property needs to be set to a shared folder path. This shared folder needs to have read/write permissions to Service Parts Management and to Performance Advisor Agent. The Performance Advisor Agent also needs this path to be configured in the Performance Advisor Agent’s configuration file.
The Performance Advisor Agent collects the reports from the folder you have shared, and sends them to the Servigistics Performance Advisor dashboards.
Identifying the GUID for your Servigistics Server
The Servigistics Server GUID information is stored in the following folder: <PSM Installation Location>/PAAgent/pa_agent_config.xml. The Performance Advisor Settings page displays the GUID as well as the SCN.
