Introducing My Tasks—the first task in the Contribute series
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 introduces My Tasks, the first task in the Contribute series. This task works with Full-Track Online Review—the new Windchill feature available in Windchill 11.2.0.0 and Windchill 11.1 M020 CPS08. Stakeholders in theWindchill Change Request Review Board can now access this task in ThingWorx Navigate. It allows them to access the Change Request information and take appropriate action, such as approve, reject, or reassign the task.
Designed using the new reusable components based on the PTC Design System, the task has a new look and feel.
Licensing for My Tasks
Access to My Tasks is controlled via the ThingWorx Navigate Contribute license. This license is available as either Registered Named User or Active Daily User.
Windchill configuration for My Tasks
A new property has been added to Windchill for supporting My Tasks in ThingWorx Navigate.
For more information, see the Configure Windchill for ThingWorx Navigate My Tasks topic.
Support for theming
My Tasks, the first task in the Change Management Tasks collection, supports theming. With this support, users can easily adjust the theme and style of the task in a supported and an upgrade-safe way.
Component-based task development
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 introduces the concept of reusable components, which are new elements available for building ThingWorx mashups. These components are accessible through the Mashup Builder to customers with the ThingWorx Navigate ADK or ThingWorx Connected PLM license. These components are designed to significantly decrease the time taken to develop new ThingWorx Navigate tasks.
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 introduces the following components:
• Item List (Predefined configurations: Task List, Affected Item List, Attachment List, and Activity List)
• Attributes
• Tile
• Action Bar
• Item Identity (Predefined configuration: Task Identity)
• Task Progress

Updated ThingView 3D viewer
The ThingView 3D viewer used by the View Part Structure task has been updated to a new ThingView widget that supports the display of View States. With this update, the View Part Structure task can display valuable product and manufacturing information.
The ThingView widget is now a fully supported and documented component available for use in custom mashups.
Refer to the Configuring Your ThingWorx Server to Work with the ThingView Widget topic.
Support for display of security labels and agreements
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 now supports the display of security labels and agreements that are defined in Windchill. As a prerequisite, you must configure and implement security labels, as described in the Windchill Security Labels Configuration and Implementation Guide.
Support for Windchill replica vaults
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 supports Windchill systems configured with replica and master vaults. For more information on Windchill vaults, refer to the Windchill Installation and Configuration Guide.
Refactored installer
The ThingWorx Navigate installer has been rewritten for the 8.5 release. Note that you can use this installer for new installations only.
To upgrade existing installations, refer to Upgrading ThingWorx Navigate.
Simplified upgrade process
The upgrade process for ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 has been simplified. The time-consuming, manual upgrade process followed in earlier releases of ThingWorx Navigate is no longer required. Data for tailoring, recent searches, roles, users, etc will also be retained in this simplified upgrade.
ThingWorx support
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 supports ThingWorx 8.5, Integration Runtime 8.0.5.
Windchill interaction using Windchill REST Services
ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 is the first release to use Windchill REST Services (WRS) to interact with Windchill. Existing ThingWorx Navigate View tasks continue to use REST Easy (Swagger) services; however, these will be moved over to WRS in subsequent releases and the REST Easy endpoints will be deprecated in respective releases. Customers will need a minimum Windchill Critical Patch Set (CPS) to work with ThingWorx Navigate. Refer to the ThingWorx Navigate Product Compatibility Matrix for Windchill version support.
Windchill IoT Patch
The Windchill IoT patch that implements the Swagger endpoints required by ThingWorx Navigate will be included in Windchill CPS beginning Windchill 11.2.0.2. It was previously provided as a separate patch to be installed on the Windchill server.
Removed demo mashup
As a part of the deprecation of ptc-windchill-demo-thing, the demo mashup is removed from ThingWorx Navigate 8.5. If your custom tasks use Info*Engine tasks, use the OData connector to invoke these tasks. ptc-windchill-demo-thing will be supported through ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 but will be removed entirely thereafter.

What are the issues and limitations?
Description
Ability to view comments added for “Reassign” in My Tasks
While reassigning a task, user can add a comment as a reason for reassignment. These comments cannot be viewed inThingWorx Navigate 8.5.
Display name of attributes in My Tasks
• Attributes with the same display name are differentiated in the attributes list on tailoring pages using their path. These paths are not localized and will always appear in English.
• For some attributes, property names from Windchill REST Services internal names are displayed on the User Interface (UI) instead of the display names defined in Windchill. As a result, these attributes names will always appear in English.
Certain entries in the Integration Runtime log
• When an attribute’s internal name is displayed instead of the display name, exceptions are reported in the Integration Runtime log for these cases. You can ignore these exceptions.
• Warnings/errors related to ODataTransformerImpl in the Integration Runtime log do not impact ThingWorx Navigate functionality. You can ignore these exceptions.
Multiple Windchill support for My Tasks
My Tasks introduced in ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 does not support multiple Windchill systems.
Support for multi-valued Windchill attributes in My Tasks
When a Windchill attribute is multi-valued, only one of its values is rendered in My Tasks.
Task progress information for older trips during a rework loop
When a task goes through a rework loop, the task progress information displayed using the progress bar in My Tasks is incorrect for older trips.
Ability to retrieve graphic files existing only on Windchill replica vaults
The ThingView 3D graphics viewing widget on the View Part Structure task is unable to retrieve graphic files that exist only on Windchill replica vaults. This is a Windchill server issue and will be resolved in a future CPS of Windchill.

What are the issues and limitations?
Description
Online license configuration
There is a known issue whereby the ThingWorx Navigate License Setup part of the ThingWorx Navigate installer does not correctly state that the login credentials entered are incorrect when obtaining an online license. If your license appears to not have been updated after attempting online license configuration, please attempt an offline configuration.
New installation tools for ThingWorx Navigate
The installation, licensing, and configuration tools have the following known issues:
• You cannot run ThingWorx Navigate Setup multiple times on the same machine.
• For Linux, the progress bar looks complete even while the installation is in progress.
• For all configuration types, no validation is performed on your Windchill connection. Enter the connection information carefully.
• The configuration log file contains incomplete information about the Windchill version and CPS number. You can obtain this information from Windchill.
This issue is addressed in a future release of ThingWorx Navigate.
Configuring ThingWorx Navigate with multiple Windchill systems
Configuration with multiple Windchill systems has these known issues:
• For systems with Single Sign-on, after you create new integration connectors for your multiple Windchill setup, you must restart Apache Tomcat to complete the configuration.
• The Download Drawing Bundle task is not supported for this configuration.
WindchillSystem Default filter in ThingWorx Navigate
Issue: The Windchill saved filter System Default requires additional configurations. This issue will be addressed in a future release of ThingWorx Navigate.
Current workaround: In Windchill, define a new saved filter that applies the same filtering as System Default. Then, in ThingWorx Navigate, apply your new filter when tailoring the user interface for the roles.
Attributes available for display in View Part Structure
The attributes defined on CAD document Usage Link are not available when tailoring View Part Structure.
Design Files and Drawing File Columns
When configured in the Parts List task, Design Files and Drawing File columns are not sortable.
Displaying values in other languages
When using ThingWorx Navigate tasks in some European languages, numeric values are displayed according to the English formatting and not according to the specific locale, for example, a decimal point appears instead of a decimal comma.
Content proxy URL
Content Proxy URL field is case-sensitive. If there are capitalization mistakes, the search fails and users may get errors reporting that a search was dropped by the content proxy.
Updating Windchill CPS
Any time you apply a Windchill CPS, the Windchill enablement patch is overwritten or lost. Make sure to reapply the enablement patch after every CPS update.
Additional requirements for using the View & Measure in 3D Task with Windchill 11.0
The View & Measure in 3D task uses the Creo View plugin and agent.
With Windchill 11.0, you can only use this task with these browser versions:
• Google Chrome 75 and later
• Mozilla Firefox 52 ESR and later
• Edge 44 and later
