Migration Upgrade to ThingWorx Navigate 1.8
The migration upgrade consists of these high-level steps. In the next topics, you’ll find more detailed procedures for each part of the process.
1. Upgrade ThingWorx:
To upgrade ThingWorx Navigate, you need to upgrade ThingWorx. Follow the migration upgrade instructions in Upgrading to ThingWorx 8.3.

For migration on Windows—In Upgrading to ThingWorx 8.3, skip steps 7–10 and 23 in the migration upgrade section for Windows.
For migration on RHEL—In Upgrading to ThingWorx 8.3, skip steps 2–5 and 18 in the migration upgrade section for RHEL.
2. Follow upgrade steps depending on your authentication method:
Single Sign-on—To set up Single Sign-on for the first time, follow the instructions in “Scenario: ThingWorx as a Service Provider and Windchill as a Resource Provider” in PTC Single Sign-on Architecture and Configuration Overview Guide.
If you already have Single Sign-on configured, skip to Step 3.
Windchill Authentication-Skip to Step 3.
3. Upgrade Integration Runtime.
4. Import ThingWorx Navigate related extensions.
5. Restore your configuration and custom tasks into the target system. If you have Single Sign-on, you’re done.
6. If you’re using Windchill Authentication, you have one additional step for the upgrade process.
