Upgrading ThingWorx Navigate
In-place upgrade is supported for ThingWorx Navigate 1.7.1. This support aligned with the in-place upgrade paths supported by ThingWorx 8.2.8:

Before you begin the upgrade, see below sections for identifying the supported upgrade paths and upgrade type.
Identify the supported upgrade paths
When upgrading your ThingWorx Navigate server, we recommend upgrading to the latest available release. PTC only supports upgrade to the latest available release when upgrading a major or minor version of your ThingWorx Navigate server.
Refer to the ThingWorx Navigate Upgrade Support Matrix to identify the supported path for your upgrade.
Identify the upgrade type
After identifying the supported upgrade path and downloading files for the upgrade, you need to identify the upgrade type—in-place or maintenance release upgrade. Refer to the below table to verify the type of upgrade.
