Enabling and Locking Configuration Management Policies
When enabling and/or locking configuration management policies, you can select specific combinations according to your requirements.
*
As administrator, you must explicitly set a policy value to ensure that the value is in effect.
To enable a policy option, select that option. A check mark displays for all enabled policies. To disable a policy option, clear the check box beside that option. You can also explicitly set a policy option. Policies that are explicitly set display in a bold font.
The available policy settings are:

Setting
Enabled
Not explicitly set
Disabled
Not explicitly set

Explicitly set

Explicitly set
To lock any policy, click the lock box beside that policy. The locked attribute stops a more precise policy from overriding the locked policy and also stops a client from manually overriding that policy. For example, locking a policy at the global level prevents any other project policy or client preference from overriding that policy.
A lock symbol displays for all policy options that are locked. Locking of policies is not explicitly set by default.
*
The settings you choose for configuration management policies are not resolved by the system.
Detailed information on configuration management configuration policies begins with the discussion of “General Policies”.
