Report Wizard: Segment Attributes Panel
A segment is a subsection of item information defined in a report, for example, related item information. Depending on the report type you selected, you can define one or more segment levels. For example, a report type could allow you to define related item information multiple levels below the item returned by the report query.
To define attributes for a report segment, select the segment node and select the Enablesegment option in the segment panel.
*
Disabled segments are indicated by .
If the segment level is only one level deep, select each attribute node and define values for it in the attribute panel.
If the segment is more than one level deep, select one of the following options:
Set attribute values manually for this segment level
You can select and define the attribute values for this segment, or you can click Copy to copy the attribute values from the previous segment level and modify them as required.
If you click Copy after you have manually modified attribute values for this segment, the values are overwritten with the copied values.
*
Only the following attribute values are copied: Relationship Fields, Item Fields, Sort By, and Relationship Filter. Other attributes values are not copied and need to be set manually.
Inherit attribute values from the previous segment level
Copies the attribute values from the previous segment level to the current level. You cannot modify inherited attribute values. Any changes to attribute values for the previous segment level will be re-copied to the current level.
*
Only the following attribute values can be inherited: Relationship Fields, Item Fields, Sort By, and Relationship Filter. Other attributes values are not copied and need to be set manually.
If an attribute exists in the previous level but no values are set for it, then it is blank in the current level and cannot be set.
If an attribute does not exist in the previous level, then the default values are used in the current level. If the previous level (parent) inherits its values from another level (grandparent) that contains the attribute, then the current level inherits the attribute value from the grandparent.
