Introduction to ug2pv
The Creo View Adapter for NX is used to convert NX CAD data to the format used by Creo View. The conversion process is called publishing. The Creo View Adapter for NX must first be configured using the ug2pv_config tool. See Using ug2pv_config on Windows for further information.
Methods of Publishing NX CAD Data
NX publishing is accomplished in any of three ways:
CAD data is converted to the Creo View format using a method called interactive publishing. During a fully interactive session of NX, the user selects an option that allows the interactive conversion of NX CAD data. This method is described in Interactive Publishing.
CAD data can also be converted at the command line using a method called command line publishing. This method is described in Command Line Publishing.
The NX worker can also be run in the background to convert CAD data as needed, without direct user intervention. This is called server controlled publishing. This method is described in NX Server Controlled Publishing.

Once a conversion is completed, the Creo View Adapter creates the files into a directory you specify, from which they can be accessed and viewed using Creo View.
Windchill Support
NX does not support visualization of assembly features from the Windchill dynamic structures.
The Creo View Adapter for NX supports multiple Non-File Synchronization enabled worker instances of NX on the same worker host computer. See Configuring Multiple Non-File Synchronization Workers on a Single Machine for more details.
In publishing, recipe configuration provides the administrator with complete control of the conversion process. See Introduction to Recipe Editing for Converting CAD Data for an overview of the recipe concept.
