To Change Annotation Appearance Settings
1. In the figure window or the upper data panel
View Content pane, perform the actions below:
a. Select one or more annotations to change.
b. Right-click selected annotations and click Edit Properties. The Annotation: Edit dialog box opens.
Alternatively, the annotations can be edited in the Annotations ribbon which displays when one or more annotations are selected.
2. Edit appearance settings for the leader lines.
◦ Color—Opens the Choose Color dialog box from which you can select the color for the leader line.
◦ Weight—In the Weight box, set the leader line weight in physical units.
| The maximum displayed width of any line is 10 pixels. |
◦ Style—Select a line style from the list or define a new line style.
To define a new line style, perform the following procedure:
1. Select Edit Line Styles. The General-Line Styles page opens.
◦ Head—Click the Head box and select a leader line head shape from the list.
3. Edit appearance settings for the label.
◦ Content—Edit the content of the annotation (Available in the Annotation: Edit dialog box only).
◦ Font Size—Select or type a font size (from 8 to 24).
◦ Font Color—Select the font color. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
◦ Shape—Click the Shape box and select a shape.
▪ No Shape
▪ Circle
▪ Rectangle
▪ Hexagon
▪ Up Triangle
▪ Down Triangle
▪ Rounded Rectangle
◦ Fill Color—Select the fill color of the leader. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
◦ Border—Select to display the border of the label shape.

4. Under Halo, select the check box to add a halo effect to a Label or Leader line.
| Halos cannot be applied to labels that have no shape or border. |
5. Edit the appearance settings of the halo.
◦ Weight — Type or select a line weight from (0.5 to 10.00) x Line weight.

◦ Opacity — Set the percentage of opacity from 0–100.
◦ Color — Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
6. To edit the arrangement of annotation text, select the following from the Annotations ribbon:
◦ Align Left, Align Center, or Align Right.
◦ Align Top, Align Middle, or Align Bottom.
◦ Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically.
◦ Combine selected annotations into one annotation.
7. Toggle > to show or hide leader lines as solid, even when they are partly obscured.
