About Field Points
A field point is a type of datum point that is intended for use in conjunction with a user-defined analysis (UDA).
A field point defines a domain from which it was selected—a curve, edge, surface, or quilt. The field point does not require dimensions because it belongs to the entire domain. To change the domain of the field point, you must edit the feature's definition.

Use a field point only as a reference for features that are required to define a user-defined analysis. Do not use a field point as a reference for regular modeling.

Field points have names FPNT# in parts and AFPNT# in assemblies.
