There is greater flexibility when searching the Model Tree.

Simple Search is enhanced. You can dynamically search and optionally filter the Model Tree nodes as you type. You can search on text, conditions, query types, and wild cards. For example, searching for text is easier, with a reduced need for wildcards, combined with the ability to create queries by part and assembly component types or by predefined states.

You can filter the nodes using the Tree Columns values. The columns that you select in the Model Tree Columns dialog box, are displayed as columns on the shortcut menu when you right-click in the search box. On the shortcut menu, select the column with which you want to filter or search the Model Tree nodes.

If columns are displayed, right-click the search box to select and then include values from the columns, into the search.

Click + next to the search box to add the found nodes to the selection buffer. The + option is available only when nodes are found.
