About Sublayouts
In the Creo Layout application, you use sublayouts to divide a design into subsets of data. You can then use sublayouts to help improve the organization and development of a design. Create a sublayout directly in the active layout or sublayout, or you can insert an existing layout file as a sublayout. Sublayouts appear as hierarchical branches in the Model Tree with a default set of tags that organize and aggregate information. You can also convert an existing node in the Model Tree into a sublayout.
You can create two types of sublayout:
An embedded sublayout that is not associated or is no longer associated with a separate file on the hard disk.
A sublayout that is associated with a standalone CEM file. The upper-level layout updates when changes are made to the sublayout and the sublayout is in session.
