About Using Components in MFG Mode
In a flattened harness, you can add, remove, or redefine the connectors, splices, and components that are marked as attached to a harness in the 3D assembly. Splices and components attached to the harness in the 3D harness are automatically assembled to the flat harness when the cables that go through them are flattened. If you disassemble these components manually, you can reassemble them manually or automatically.
For subconnectors, the assemble_parent_connector configuration option specifies whether the parent connector, that is, the subassembly or the subconnectors are assembled. If you set the assemble_parent_connector configuration option to yes, the subassembly or parent connector is assembled. If you set the assemble_parent_connector configuration option to no, the subconnectors are assembled. This configuration option is set to yes by default.
If a component is assembled into a flat harness, it appears in the flat harness assembly BOM. It does not appear in a wirelist unless it is the From or To for a cable. If cable portions display inside the component, they are not flattened, but display exactly the way they appear in Cabling. If you select a component to be attached to the harness with the Components > Attach to Harness command in 3D, the component is also automatically assembled.

* Cabling does not automatically assemble the connectors when laying out cables.
After you create a drawing of the flattened harness, you can add notes that correspond to the flattened harness.
