Viewing Cable and Wire Information
To Get Cable and Wire Information
1. Click
Cabling to get information about the selected harnesses, networks, and cables in the assembly. The
Cabling Information dialog box opens.
2. Select the information type and level options to retrieve the cable and wire information.
3. Click Apply. If you click the Individual or Partial harness options, the HARNESSES menu appears shows a list of the existing harnesses in the assembly.
4. Select a harness. The INFORMATION WINDOW opens.
This procedure retrieves the name and the conductor contents of a selected cable, network, or harness feature. It also highlights the path of the cable, network, or harness.
Alternatively, you can right-click a cable or cable segment in the Model Tree or graphics window and select one of the following
Information list options on the shortcut menu:
◦ Feature—Opens the
Feature info tab in the browser for the selected cable or wire segment.
◦ Model—Opens the
Model info tab in the browser for the selected cable or wire segment.
◦ Reference Viewer—Opens the
Reference Viewer dialog box. The selected cable or wire segment is the
Current Object To Check Cable Clearance
1. Click Analysis.
2. Click the arrow next to
Global Interference and then click
Pairs Clearance. The
Pairs Clearance dialog box opens.
3. Select the From and To references.
4. When you select a harness part, the clearance between the entire harness part and the other selection (such as a second harness part) is calculated.
5. Select the second cable or assembly component.
6. Click Info to open an INFORMATION WINDOW that displays the clearance results.
7. Click Close to exit the Pairs Clearance dialog box.
| You can determine the clearance between cables, and between cables and assembly members. |
To Check Global Clearance for Harnesses
1. In standard mode, click Analysis.
2. Click the arrow next to
Global Interference and click
Global Clearance. The
Global Clearance dialog box opens.
3. Click the Include harnesses to include harness.
4. To compute the analysis for preview, click Preview. Global clearance is calculated between the harness part and the other parts. The information appears in the table.
5. To display clearance in the graphics window, click Show All.
6. To clear the clearance items and close the dialog box, click Clear.
7. To accept and complete the current analysis, click OK. The dialog box closes.
| You can include harness parts in the global clearance checking process. The checking of harness parts does not include the checking of interferences between cables within a harness part. The check is between the entire harness part and other parts, such as assemblies and harness parts. |
