Creating a Drawing Note
When you create a drawing note, you click through a series of options to set up all the note properties such as attachment type and location, leader style, and text position. Your selections are retained as defaults for subsequent notes, until you change them.
1. On the Annotate tab, click the arrow next to Note, and select a note type command.
2. Create a note using one of the following options for the note leader:
No Leader (unattached, on item, or offset note) — Bypasses any leader setup option and specifies only the note text and position on the sheet.
With Leader (leader, tangent leader, or normal leader) — Attaches the leader to a specific point. You can specify the attachment style, arrow style, and so on.
3. Select the location for the note on the sheet. The Format tab opens. Enter the note text from the keyboard or select Note from File in the Text group to open from a file. A browser opens and you can select the file.
4. Set the alignment of the note text using Left, Center, or Right options in the Style group.
5. Select a style for the note text using the Style commands. By default the note is created in the current style or the last style that you used.
6. Enter the note text from the keyboard or from a selected file. Type a line and press ENTER. Type a second line if required. Press ENTER again and add more lines.
You can enter text symbols in the note text from the symbol palette.
7. Click outside the text box to place the note.
