About CATIA Versions, Licenses, and Translators
Creo supports CATIA versions 4 and 5. You can import CATIA V4 and V5 files without a license. You can also open CATIA V4 and V5 files without creating separate models in Creo and assemble them as the components of multi-CAD assemblies. However, you require the following licenses to export part and assembly models to the CATIA V4 and V5 file formats:
Creo CATIA V4 Collaboration
Creo CATIA V5 Collaboration
Both licenses support Associative Topology Bus (ATB).
Importing and Exporting CATIA V4 Files
If you have the Creo CATIA V4 Collaboration license, you can export Creo models to CATIA V4.
The Creo CATIA V4 Collaboration license supports the following functionality:
Export of Creo models as CATIA V4 Model (*.model) files
The use of Model Space parameter configuration options
Export to CATIA start parts
Export of faceted data
You can import CATIA V4 Model (*.model) and Session (*.session) files without a license. The imported parts and assemblies are ATB-enabled and can be associatively updated to changes in the native CATIA models. For more information, see the Help module, Associative Topology Bus.
Importing and Exporting CATIA V5 Files
You can import CATIA V5, revisions 10 to 27, part and assembly files and export Creo models to CATIA V5, revisions 16 to 27. You must purchase the Creo CATIA V5 Collaboration license to export Creo files to CATIA V5. You can import CATIA V5 files without a license. You can associatively update the ATB-enabled imported CATIA V5 geometry.
