About Analyzing Connections
Use the connection analysis tool to analyze the quality of the connection between selected references. For references, you can select surfaces, quilts, solids, curves, or edges. If a two-sided edge is selected, the connection between the sides of the edge is analyzed. You can analyze for G0 (position), G1 (tangency), G2 (curvature) or G3 (acceleration). You can set the tolerance value based on the type of connection and then determine if the connection is within the required tolerance for the selected connection type.
The results of the analysis appear in the Connection Analysis dialog box and in the graphics window. The areas of the connection that meet the required tolerance appear in green. The areas of the connection that do not meet the required tolerance appear in red. The areas of the connection in which the required tolerance level does not exist and therefore cannot be calculated appear in brown. You can filter the results to show only the areas of the connection that fail.
You can select any number of references for a connection. The following table shows the analysis that is performed on the references.
