To Create Simple Conical Cosmetic Threads
1. Click > > . The Thread tab opens.
2. Click
Simple Thread to create a simple thread.
3. To select a surface to thread, click the Placement tab, click the Threaded surface collector, and then select a conical surface.
4. To change the thread height (distance between the inner and outer thread surface), under
Hole/Thread, in the
Diameter box, type a value.
5. To change the pitch or threads-per-inch value, in the
Pitch box, type a value.
6. To define the start of the thread, perform one of these actions:
◦ On the
Thread tab, under
Depth, click the
Starting surface collector, and select a reference (plane, surface, or quilt).
◦ Click the Depth tab, click the Start thread from collector, and then select a reference (plane, surface, or quilt).
An arrow appears indicating the direction of the thread creation.
7. To flip the thread to the other side of the start reference, click
on the
Thread tab.
8. To set the thread length (distance from the start reference), next to Depth on the Thread tab, select one of the following options:
◦ Blind. Type a length value in the box.
◦ To Reference. Select a surface, plane, curve, axis, vertex, point, or quilt at which to end the threading.
9. To change a parameter value, click the Properties tab, and then click a cell in the Parameters table.
10. Click
OK.
