About User-Defined Features in Mold Design
You can create user-defined features (UDFs) from regular cuts or slots in a mold or cast model. UDFs allow you to create a standard feature once and use the same feature in different models by changing its references and dimensions. You can add UDFs to the workpiece or die block and to the mold or cast assembly.
For sprue, runner, and gate systems, you must model features as assembly features that intersect the workpiece or die block, or the mold or cast components. These features can then be made into UDFs for later use in other models.
