About Scan
You can distribute measure points along chains present on the surface to be measured. The scanning probe moves along these points when measuring.
When you split a chain into segments, measure points are automatically created and distributed along the segments. You can modify the distribution of measure points in each segment.
A scanning probe does not retract after measuring at each measure point. Instead, it retracts only while moving between two distant chains or segments.
There are two types of segments:
• Acquisition segment contains a set of measure points.
• Connection segment contains points through which the probe moves when measuring. But these points are not measure points. You can use a connection segment to guide the probe from one acquisition segment to another.
