Editing Sketches and Planar Curves
You can edit curves or sketches that lie on the same sketching plane. The geometry of the existing sketch or the planar curve is replicated in the new sketch that is created as a result of editing. The Model Tree shows a single sketch. The Model Tree label of the original sketch is reused by the new sketch.

After a curve or sketched geometry is replicated in a new sketch, the original curve or sketched geometry becomes invisible. You cannot edit it.
Conics and splines are not replicated in a sketch.
The possible scenarios and the descriptions of the edits follow in the next table.
Scenario
Description of the Edit
A model contains sketched geometry
You can create a new sketch at the same location as the sketched geometry. The sketched geometry that existed previously automatically gets added as sketched geometry in the new sketch.
A model contains planar curves
You can create a new sketch on a face or a plane that is coplanar with the planar curves. The coplanar curves are automatically added as sketched geometry in the new sketch.
A model created in Creo Parametric with several coplanar sketches is opened in Creo Direct
You can create a new sketch on the same plane in Creo Direct. All the coplanar sketches that were created in Creo Parametric are automatically added as sketched geometry in the new sketch.
