1. On the
View tab, click the arrow below
Appearances. The appearance gallery opens.
2. Click
Copy Paste Appearance. The cursor changes to a

color picker.
3. Copy the existing appearance that is applied to the model using the
![](../../../../dma/direct_modeling/images/color_picker_cursor.png)
color picker.
When you copy an appearance using the picker,
![](../../../../dma/direct_modeling/images/default_appearance_image16x16.png)
changes to display the copied appearance, which now is the active appearance for the current session.
5. Place the copied appearance on a surface of the model in the current session using the
![](../../../../dma/direct_modeling/images/paintbrush.png)
paint brush.
You can click
![](../../../../dma/direct_modeling/images/default_appearance_image16x16.png)
to paste the copied appearance to other models or model surfaces in the session. You can copy and paste one appearance at a time.
