Editing Appearances
Appearance Editor
The Appearance Editor dialog box allows you to modify properties of an appearance in the appearance gallery.
In the appearance gallery, click More Appearances or right click an appearance and click Edit or New. The Appearance Editor dialog box opens. You can edit the name, description, keywords and material properties of an appearance. Clicking OK in the editor activates the updated appearance. The Appearances icon on the View tab displays the active appearance. The appearance is applied to the selected objects. Clicking Cancel in the editor cancels all the changes.

Model Appearance Editor
The Model Appearance Editor dialog box allows you to modify properties of an appearance applied to a model.
In the Appearance Gallery, click Model Appearance Editor or right click an appearance in the Model palette and then click Edit. The Model Appearance Editor dialog box opens. You can edit the name, description, keywords and material properties of an appearance. The Appearances icon on the View tab displays the active appearance. The modified appearance is applied to the selected objects in the model.
The Model Appearance Editor consists of the following elements:
Model palette
Appearance preview and appearance information
Appearance properties
Model Palette
The Model palette displays appearances stored and used in the active model as thumbnail color swatches. The View options settings in the appearance gallery or the Appearances Manager determine the display settings for the thumbnails. If the active model does not have any appearances, the default appearance is displayed in the Model palette. Clicking an appearance activates it for modification.
Click to select and modify an appearance in the active model. The modified appearance is applied to the selected object in the model. In the context of an assembly, the modified appearance is stored with the model where the appearance is applied.
