Repurpose a model to create a new product

Measure and calculate

Click File > Open to load Printer.pk2.

Problems with the file: If the file you download has a .zip extension, you will not be able to load it in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling until you change the file extension to .pk2. For example, you should change Stereo.zip to Stereo.pk2.
If you receive a warning that you have too many parts, you may have other parts loaded. Don't worry about it for this project.

Expand the Printer assembly and double-click Lid (the configuration inside Printer), as shown in the image below.

Click the Analysis tab on the ribbon and then, in the Measure group, click the arrow next to Distance. Click Distance of Face to Face to measure the distance between the inner faces, as shown in the image below.

Send the measurement to the calculator: click .

Calculate the distance to move the right face: subtract the length that you want for the final distance between the two faces.

Suggestion: Try 30 mm.

Close the printer: double-click the Lid configuration.
Move faces and geometry

Move parts using Move 3D: draw a box, as shown in the image below.

Select the Direction: point the CoPilot arrow to the left, as shown in the image below.

Send the calculation to Move 3D: click .
