Display objects using Show
The Show settings control the appearance of the objects (parts and workplanes) in a viewport. For example, you can change a part's appearance using the options in Show (for example, displaying edges and shading). These settings only control the viewport you change; no other viewports are affected.
If you want to switch on or off more than one object at a time without closing the menu, pin the menu. Close the menu by clicking the close icon.
If you have a large assembly or part and want to change several Show settings, you can avoid redrawing the viewport contents after every click by freezing the viewport, changing the Show settings, and then unfreezing the viewport. To change the Show settings,
1. Right-click in a viewport and select Show Properties.
2. 3D Geometry options control how 3D objects are displayed. Most options are self-explanatory. The following options are explained here:
3D Geometry: Show/hide 3D Geometry.
Hidd Supp: Suppress hidden facets and edges.
Hidd Dimm: Dim hidden edges.
Mixed: Mixed display mode.
Clip Hatches: Display hatch lines on an active clipping plane.
3. Workplanes options control how workplanes are displayed. Most options are self-explanatory. The following options are explained here:
Workplanes: Show/hide workplanes (including contents).
Dim Inactive: Dims the geometry in inactive workplane.
Match Lines: Match lines (used in Loft).
Hidd Supp: The display of geometry in the active workplane. With this option switched off the geometry of the active workplane is no longer hidden (suppressed). You can see the geometry even if the workplane lies within a part.(1)
4. Analysis options control how analysis information is displayed. Most options are self-explanatory. The following options are explained here:
Shaded, Edged, Wire, and Hidden: Shows/hides undeformed (the part's original shape) elements.
5. Rendering options control rendering display.
Materials: Show/hide render materials.
Background: Show/hide background.
Scenery: Show/hide bases, panoramas, and rooms.
6. Click Set to Default to reset the settings to default settings. You can set the default settings in the Viewport Settings dialog box. See Change viewport settings.
7. Click Close when you are finished. Changes are applied as you change settings.
