Change the background of a viewport
You can change the background of a viewport to a single color, a color gradient (two or three blended colors), or an image.
To change the current background of a viewport,
1. Right-click in the viewport and select Viewport Properties. The Vport: vport1 dialog box opens.
2. Click the Background button at the top of the dialog. The Viewport Background dialog box opens.
3. Select a Type: Single Color, Color Gradient, or Image.
4. If you selected a single color or a gradient, set the color(s).
5. If you selected an image, you can choose to display the image tiled or centered in the viewport.
6. Click to complete the operation.
To change the default background of a viewport,
1. Click File > Settings > Viewport. The Viewport Settings dialog box opens.
2. In the left pane, click Background. Define the background color either by selecting values for Color 1, Color 2 and Color 3, or by selecting one of the Predefined Backgrounds. The viewport background immediately changes when you select the colors or predefined backgrounds.

You can specify any or all of Color 1, Color 2 and Color 3 for the desired effect.
3. To reset to the viewport to the default colors, click Reset.
4. Click Close to close the Viewport Settings dialog box.
