Setting the active part
As you work with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, you will notice that most operations (for example, parts and machining), use the active part as the default. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays the name of the active part at the bottom of the user interface.
To set the active part,
1. At the bottom of the screen, on the Status Bar, right-click the Active Part box and select Set Active Part from the context menu.
2. Specify the part in one of the following ways:
Select the part from the Structure Browser.
Select the part on the screen.
Enter the path and part name in the box.
Enter the name of the part in the user input line, including double quotes and the path name, for example, "/part1".

To set the active part, you can also:
Select the part in the viewport and click Set Active Part on the Command Mini Toolbar (CMT).
Select the part in the Structure Browser, right-click and click Set Active on the context menu.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling sets the part as active and displays its name next to the button.
