The following naming conventions are used by Creo Elements/Direct Modeling for all "parcels": parts, assemblies, containers, workplanes, and so on.
• The maximum name length is 240 characters.
• The first character must be alphanumeric (0-9, A-Z, a-z) or a two-byte character.
• All other characters must be alphanumeric (0-9, A-Z, a-z), a two-byte character, or the characters . (period),_ (underscore), or - (dash) or + (plus), or one or more spaces.
• * (Asterix or star) is not allowed in the part name.
• A space cannot be the first or last character.
• In other locales (for example, German), umlauts and accents are treated as alphanumeric and are therefore valid characters.
• Two-byte characters are allowed at every position of the name. However, two-byte characters count as two bytes for the string length calculation.
