Each label has a number of attributes that control its appearance. To change label attributes:
1. Click Feature and then, in the Annotation 3D group, click More.
2. Click Annotation 3D under Properties.
3. Select the Label in the viewport.
The label attributes are:
• Font - The font used to draw the label.
• Size - The size of the font.
• Frame - The box around the label.
• Mode - The orientation mode of the label.
• Color - The color of the label.
• Filled - Toggles between solid and outline text.
• Anchor Pt - The point on the feature at which the label is attached.
• Arrow Size - The size of the reference line arrowhead.
• Arrow Shape - The shape of the arrowhead.
• Filled - Toggles between solid and outline arrows.
The default anchor point, position and orientation attributes of labels are determined automatically depending on the elements making up the feature. Label attributes may change whenever the feature is modified.
The following rules are used to determine the attributes of a label:
• If the feature is attached to an assembly, the label is anchored to a vertex of a wire boundary box enclosing the assembly. The boundary box is part of the label and is updated if the assembly changes.
• If the feature is attached to a part, the label is anchored to a vertex of a wire boundary box enclosing the part. The boundary box is part of the label and is updated if the part changes.
• If the feature is attached to a workplane set, the label is anchored to a vertex of a wire boundary box enclosing the workplane set. The boundary box is part of the label and is updated if the workplane set changes.
• If the feature is attached to a workplane, the label is anchored to the bottom left corner of the workplane border. The position of the label does not change if the workplane border changes.
• If the feature contains faces:
◦ An inner point of the largest face is used as the anchor point.
◦ If the face is either a cylinder, torus, or cone, and the curvature is concave, then the orientation lies along the axis with a bend to the anchor point. If this is not possible, the orientation of the label is normal to the face at the anchor point.
◦ The plane of the label is parallel to one of the global axes.
◦ The label is placed a distance of 3 mm from the anchor point.
• If the feature has no faces, but contains 2D or 3D edges:
◦ The center of the longest edge is used as the anchor point.
◦ The orientation of the label is normal to the edge at the anchor point.
◦ The plane of the label is parallel to one of the global axes.
◦ The label is placed a distance of 3 mm from the anchor point.
• If the feature contains only 2D or 3D vertices:
◦ The first vertex is used as the anchor point.
◦ The orientation of the label is parallel to one of the global axes.
◦ The plane of the label is parallel to one of the global axes.
◦ The label is placed a distance of 3 mm from the anchor point.

The font, size, color and frame of the label are attributes of the label, not of the feature. They are not specified directly in the feature definition, but are set to default values when the label is created.
To change label attributes:
1. Click Feature and then, in the Annotation 3D group, click More.
2. Click Annotation 3D under Properties.
3. Select the Label in the viewport.
The settings of the label attributes are maintained when a feature is modified.
