Change a point on a spline
When you create a spline with interpolation points, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling automatically generates a control polygon for that spline. This means that you can modify the shape of a spline with interpolation points by moving the position of the control points as well as the interpolation points you defined yourself.
Add interpolation points to a spline curve
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Modify 2D group, click More.
2. Click Add Interpolation Point under the Interpolation Spline section.
3. Click the spline you want to change.
4. Click on a point where you want to add an interpolation point (between two existing interpolation points).
5. Move the cursor to the position where you want the new interpolation point and click.
6. Click OK to complete the operation.
Add control points to a spline curve
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Modify 2D group, click More.
2. Click Add Control Point under the Control Spline section.
3. Click the spline you want to change.
4. Click the spline control line where you want to add a control point (between two existing control points).
5. Click a position for this new control point.
6. Click OK to complete the operation.
Change the tangent at an interpolation point
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Modify 2D group, click More.
2. Click Change Interpolation Tangent under the Interpolation Spline section. The Tangent dialog box opens.
3. Click the spline you want to change.
4. Click the interpolation point where the tangent condition needs to be changed.
5. Click Tangent and type the angle.
6. If you want to remove the tangent, deselect the Tangent indicator.
7. Click OK to complete the operation.
Change any point on a spline
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Modify 2D group, click More.
2. Click Change Curve Point under the Control Spline section. The Tangent dialog box opens.
3. Click the spline you want to change.
4. Click the point you want to change.
5. Click a new position for the point.
6. If you want to change the tangent for a point, click Tangent and type an angle or position.
7. Click OK to complete the operation.
This operation changes the spline globally.
