Create a dependent general view
You can create a view of a cutaway, section, detail view, orthogonal view or isometric view from a different perspective, showing the cut faces with more clarity. A dependent general view differs from a general view in that it is derived from a cutaway, section, or detail view. It is like a general view in that you can specify the direction of the view.
To create a dependent general view,
1. Click Annotation and then, in the Setup group, click the arrow next to Dep View.
2. Click Create Dependent General View. The Dependent General dialog box opens.
3. Specify the parent view (a cutaway, section, or detail view) in one of the following ways:
Click the view in the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation viewport.
Select the view from the Drawing Browser.
4. Click Direction under General View.
In the 3D viewport,
Specify the view using dynamic viewing, then right-click and choose Apply this direction.
Or, right-clickto specify the view direction using Measure Direction.
5. Click Real View on Parent on if you wish to display a 3D preview of the model used as input for the operation.
6. If necessary, select a Profile.
7. Click to complete the operation.
8. Move the view placeholders for the selected views and click to place them on the sheet.
The view can now be updated with the Update command. You can continue adding views and then update all of them in one operation.
