Measure the length of an edge or curve
You can measure the length of an edge or curve in the viewport. The element can be straight, curved or even a closed circle or spline.
The measurable drawing elements can be any of the following: view and added geometry, center and symmetry lines, sketches, and the sheet frame. Infinite construction lines cannot be measured.
To measure a length,
1. Click Annotation, Geometry, or Insert and then, in the Utilities group, click the arrow next to .
2. Click Length. The Measure dialog box opens with Length Output box.
3. Select an element in the viewport to measure.
The element's length is displayed in the Length Output box.
A Length measurement is calculated between vertices. Therefore, if the element to measure consists of connected segments, only an individual segment is measured when clicked. Use the Between Pts type of measurement in this case to measure straight lines. To reveal the construction of an element, click Vertices on in the Show dialog box.
4. Continue clicking elements, or click (Apply) or Cancel to complete the command.
You can click (Apply) to use the output from Measure as input for an interrupted operation.
