Update Advisor (replacement for Pro/TAN Tracker) is now available

Introduction

The Update Advisor provides you with the ability to compare your Current Release and Datecode with an Update Release and Datecode of a PTC product to assist you in making an update decision. Based upon your input, the tool will display the following three reports:

• Resolved Issues: A list of all issues that exist in your Current installation that have been resolved in or before the Update installation. These are issues that you may be experiencing now, but should not see in the Update release and datacode you are considering.
• New Issues: A list of issues that were reported in or before the Update Release and Datecode you are considering. These are issues you are not likely experiencing now but may if you choose to update to the Update Release and Datecode you are considering.
• All Open Issues: A list of all open issues in the Update Release up through the Update Datecode, that have not yet been resolved.

New and Improved Features in Update Advisor (formerly known as Pro/TAN Tracker)

Improved performance, layout, look and feel

• Cleaner and more attractive user interface -- consistent with appearance of Call Logger, Call Tracker, and Knowledge Base tools
• Improvedand more intuitive single page search criteria selectioninterface
• Enhanced search results (TAN list) display page
• TAN details/solution page has been reformatted -- including additional information
• Use of cookies to remember some of user's last preferences

New functionality

• NewTAN list table columns: 'associated SPR and SPR severity','platform', and 'last update date'
• Capabilityto sort all TAN list table columns (except 'Title' column)by now clicking on column header
• Capabilityto define TAN list sort order before and after the initial search
• Capabilityto download '.csv' spreadsheet file of any TAN list page
• Capabilityto filter search by multiple module and platform types - as well as associated SPR severity
• Capabilityto link into Software Update tool from any TAN details/solution page (provided a resolved release and datecode exist for that TAN)
• Capability to link directly to TAN details page without having to enter either the Update Advisor or Knowledge Base tools via the usual start page (i.e. cut and paste specific TAN URL into browser window)

Multiple language support

• Application text and messages will be translated into several languages other than English
• When available, some TANs will have title and solution text that can be displayed in French or German - depending on users language preference

Bug fixes from old TAN Tracker

• Fixed issue that sometimes caused TAN list page to be truncated
• Fixed issue that caused irrelevant TANs to be reported
