FTA Tools Toolbar
The FTA Tools toolbar provides buttons for quickly inserting gates and events. It also provides buttons for navigating fault tree pages.
FTA Tools Toolbar
To quickly show and hide the FTA Tools toolbar, right-click in the toolbar area and select FTA Tools. Repeating this step switches between showing and hiding the toolbar.
The following table shows the buttons in the FTA Tools toolbar when they are available for selection and describes what each one does.

You can insert dynamic gates and spare events only in standard time dependent trees. There are four dynamic gates: Priority AND gates, spare gates, sequence enforcing gates, and functional dependency gates.
Toolbar Button/Tooltip
Description
AND Gate
Provides for inserting an AND gate. For more information, see AND Gate.
OR Gate
Provides for inserting an OR gate. For more information, see OR Gate.
Voting Gate
Provides for inserting a voting gate. For more information, see Voting Gate.
XOR Gate
Provides for inserting an XOR gate. For more information, see XOR Gate.
NAND Gate
Provides for inserting a NAND gate. For more information, see NAND Gate.
NOR Gate
Provides for inserting a NOR gate. For more information, see NOR Gate.
NOT Gate
Provides for inserting a NOT gate. For more information, see NOT Gate.
Inhibit Gate
Provides for inserting an inhibit gate. For more information, see Inhibit Gate.
Priority And Gate
Provides for inserting a priority AND gate. For more information, see Priority AND Gate.
Spare Gate
Provides for inserting a spare gate. For more information, see Spare Gate.
Functional Dependency Gate
Provides for inserting a functional dependency gate. For more information, see Functional Dependency Gate.
Sequence Enforcing Gate
Provides for inserting a sequence enforcing gate. For more information, see Sequence Enforcing Gate.
Sequencing AND Gate
Provides for inserting a sequencing AND gate. You can insert this type of gate only in SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 fault trees. For more information, see Sequencing AND Gate (SAE Fault Trees Only).
Transfer Gate
Provides for inserting a transfer-in gate and its related transfer-out gate. For more information, see Transfer Gate.
Remarks Gate
Provides for inserting a remarks gate. For more information, see Remarks Gate.
Pass-Through Gate
Provides for inserting a pass-through gate. For more information, see Pass-Through Gate.
Basic Event
Provides for inserting a basic event. For more information, see Basic Event.
House Event
Provides for inserting a house event. For more information, see House Event.
Undeveloped Event
Provides for inserting an undeveloped event. For more information, see Undeveloped Event.
Spare Event
Provides for inserting a spare event. For more information, see Spare Event.
Back
Takes you to the previously selected top gate. This button is available only after you have selected more than one top gate in this session. You can click the drop-down control for this button to view and select the identifier for the top gate.
Forward
Takes you to the subsequently selected top gate. This button is available only after you use the Back button in this session. You can click the drop-down control for this button to view and select the identifier for the top gate.
First Fault Tree
Takes you to the first top gate in the System file. This button is unavailable when the first top gate is selected.
Previous Fault Tree
Takes you to the previous top gate in the System file. This button is unavailable when the first top gate is selected.
Next Fault Tree
Takes you to the next top gate in the System file. This button is unavailable when the last top gate is selected.
Last Fault Tree
Takes you to the last top gate in the System file. This button is unavailable when the last top gate is selected.
