Specifying Process Grade Properties
Properties under Prediction in the System file properties control how process grades are calculated and used. For more information, see Prediction System File Properties.
1. Display the properties for the System file. For more information, see:
2. Locate the properties under Prediction.
3. For Process Grade type, select the PRISM model to use to calculate process grades. Choices are Logistics (default) and Inherent.
4. Select or clear Trickle down Process Grade factors. The trickle down of process grades refers to whether a custom Process Grade file specified for the parent assembly is inherited by the records beneath it.
When this checkbox is cleared (default), a Process Grade file specified for an assembly is not inherited by child records.
When this checkbox is selected, a Process Grade file specified for an assembly is inherited by child records. If a Prediction Process Grade file is specified for the top-most assembly in the System Tree Items table, it would be inherited by all lower-level assemblies and parts.
When PRISM is the model selected, a Process Grade file is always applied. If a custom Process Grade file is not specified or inherited, a default Prediction Process Grade file is used.
5. Select or clear Apply default Process Grades. This checkbox indicates whether the default Process Grade file is applied to a failure rate calculated by a reliability prediction model other than 217Plus or PRISM. This checkbox has no affect when the 217 Plus or PRISM model is selected as Process Grade files are always used with these models.
When you have a 217Plus or PRISM license, you can use Process Grade files with all models but a FIDES, IEC TR 62380, or RDF 2000 model.
When this checkbox is cleared (default), no Process Grade file is applied to another model type.
When this checkbox is selected, the default or specified Process Grade file is applied to the failure rate calculated by some other model. A Process Grade file can be specified for an assembly in the Calculation Data or Process Grade pane. For more information, see Enabling a Prediction Process Grade File for an Assembly.
6. When finished, close the File Properties window or Project Properties window.
