Prediction Cycling Profile File Overview
The Prediction Cycling Profile file is a singular support file, which means only one occurrence of this file type can exist in the Project. This file is created when the Project is created. When you have a license for the IEC TR 62380 model or RDF 2000 model, you can open and insert any number of cycling profiles and phases in this file. The phases and temperatures for the profile selected for an assembly are then used by IEC TR 62380 or RDF 2000 model to calculate predicted failure rates. The Prediction Cycling Profile file has three panes. The following table describes these panes.

Description
|
Cycling Profiles
|
Displays a table listing the profiles inserted in the Prediction Cycling Profile file. For more information, see Cycling Profiles Pane.
|
Phases
|
Displays information about the operating phases for the profile selected in the Cycling Profiles pane. For more information, see Phases Pane
|
Temperatures
|
Displays information about common temperature variations for the profile selected in the Cycling Profiles pane. You can insert table records in this pane only if Use common temperature variations is selected above this table or in the Cycling Profiles pane. For more information, see Temperatures Pane.

In the Prediction Cycling Profile file, you can specify the average ambient temperature of the system in one of three ways:
• You can use the same temperature for all operating phases. You use this method when there are different phase operations with different outside ambient temperatures, but there is only one constant component temperature.
• You can use different temperatures for each operating phase. You use this method when each phase is a separate stage of operation in the profile of the system.
• You use a common sequence of temperatures across each phase. You use this method when each phase experiences the same set of common temperature variations.
You can directly modify the records in the
Prediction Cycling Profile file. You can also cut, copy, paste, and delete these records. For more information, see
Table How-Tos.
