Entering HRD5 Optical Devices

The following table describes the part parameters required for optical devices when HRD5 is the selected calculation model. This model supports the following subcategories of optical devices:

• Detector, Isolator, Emitter

• Laser Diode

• Other Optical Module or Device

Parameter	Type	Description
Quality Level	Choice List	The quality screening level used in the manufacturing of the device. For more information, see HRD5 Quality Levels.
Type	Choice List	Not required for the Laser Diode subcategory. The type of device.
Rating	Choice List	Required only for the Laser Diode subcategory. The rating of the device. Choices are: • 850 • 1300 • 1500
Cooled	Checkbox	When selected, indicates that the device is cooled.
Component Lifetime	Choice List	Required only for the follow subcategories: Laser Diode and Other Optical Module or Device. Indicates the lifetime of the device. Choices are: • Less than or equal to Operational Lifetime • Greater than Operational Lifetime
