Automatic Calculations
Automatic calculations run at the time you enter or update a data field used in the equation. If multiple automatic calculations are affected by a field change, they are performed in the order in which they are listed in the Calculation file. To reorder the calculations in this file, you can use the standard Windows drag-and-drop technique.
Automatic calculations run when items are imported. While automatic calculations are not run when a Team Project is copied into an Enterprise database, you can run them once the Enterprise Project is created. For more information, see
Calculating and Viewing Results. If an automatic calculation is invalid or results in a run-time error, the results field is cleared.
In the Enterprise Edition, no permissions apply specifically to automatic calculations. If you have permission to read and write to tables, automatic calculations run as you insert items and make modifications to the fields that are used in these equations.
