Confidence Level Page
Under FRACAS in the Calculate window, the Confidence Level page provides for indicating the confidence level to use for calculations. The following table describes the options on this page.
Option
Description
Ignore System Tree Items that have no failures.
When selected (default), all system tree items with zero failures are ignored when calculations run.
*
The name of this option and the next depend on the singular name specified for the System Tree Items table. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
Calculate results for System Tree Items with no failures using the following confidence level
When selected, the chi-square value is computed using two degrees of freedom so that results for system tree items with no failures can be calculated when calculations run. For Confidence level, which becomes available, you specify the confidence level to use in these calculations. The default is 75. You can enter any integer between 0 and 100.
*
The equation for determining the degrees of freedom is 2N + 2, where N is the number of failures. Thus, when the number of failures is 0, the degrees of freedom is equal to 2. For more information, see Chi-Square Distribution
