Description
---|---|---|---|
Data set name
The unique name to assign to the data set. By default, the name is New Data Set. If a data set with this name already exists, the name assigned is New Data Set (X), where (X) is the next available numeric value. You can specify any unique name that you want to use.
Analysis type
The type of analysis. Choices are Life Data, Non-Parametric LDA, and Reliability Growth. The default is Life Data, which is parametric analysis.
Data type
The type of data in the data set. The choices depend on the selection for Analysis type.
• When Life Data is selected, choices are Exact Times, Interval, and Free Form. The default is Exact Times. For more information, see Parametric Life Data Analysis (LDA).
• When Non-Parametric Life Data is selected, choices are Inspection and Interval. The default is Inspection. For more information, see Non-Parametric Life Data Analysis (LDA).
• When Reliability Growth is selected, choices are Duane Cumulative, Duane Interval, Crow/AMSAA Cumulative, and Crow/AMSAA Interval. The default is Duane Cumulative. For more information, see Reliability Growth Analysis.

Suspensions
Indicates whether the data to import contains only failures or both failures and suspensions. When this checkbox is cleared (default), only failures are present. When it is selected, both failures and suspensions are present.
Grouped
Indicates whether the data to import is grouped. When this checkbox is cleared (default), the data is not grouped. When it is selected, the data is grouped.
Distribution
The distribution to use to model failure times. Choices are Weibull, Lognormal, Normal, Gumbel- (Lower), Gumbel+ (Upper), Exponential, Rayleigh, Gamma, Logistic, and Log-logistic. The default is Weibull. For distribution descriptions, see Failure and Repair Distributions.

The column names shown on Select Field Assignments page are always the default column names, regardless as to whether you have specified custom column names as described in Changing the Names of Data Point Columns.
