Competing Failure Modes Setup Window
The Competing Failure Modes Setup window contains one entry for each unique group name entered in the Weibull Data Points pane. In this window, you associate each unique group name with any available failure mode or with no failure mode.
To open this window, you click the CFM Setup button in the Weibull Parameters pane when Competing Failure Modes is selected as the model for any of five distributions: Weibull, lognormal, normal, exponential, or Rayleigh. For more information, see Weibull Parameters Pane for a Parametric Life Data Set.
The following table describes the two columns in the Competing Failure Modes Setup window.
Column
Description
Group name
Each of the unique group names entered in the Weibull Data Points pane for the data set. When Competing Failure Modes is selected as the model, Group name is always the first column the Weibull Data Points table. For more information, see Weibull Data Points Pane for a Parametric Life Data Set.
Failure Mode
The failure mode choices based on your selection for Number of CFM modes in the Weibull Parameters pane. For example, if you selected 4 Failure Modes, this column provides four choices: No Mode, Failure Mode 1, Failure Mode 2, Failure Mode 3, and Failure Mode 4. Initially, No Mode is the default for each group name.
