Phase Calculation Properties
The Calculation Properties window for a phase displays all properties assigned to the phase. To quickly open the Calculation Properties window for a phase, you double-click the phase. The following table describes the calculation properties for a phase.
Properties
Description
Phase index
The number of the phase, which is assigned based on the sequential order in which the phase was inserted. This field is read-only and is shown for informational purposes only. This number indicates the sequence of the phase in the operational mission of the system.
Identifier
The unique identifier assigned to the block representing the phase. The format for the identifier that is assigned to a block in a block diagram or a phase in a phase diagram is specified by RBD Block Identifier, which appears under Identifiers in the System file properties. You can change this identifier to any unique value. For more information, see Identifiers System File Properties.
Description
A description of the phase.
Diagram link
Specifies the block diagram to link to the phase. To set a diagram link, you click this field’s browse button, which opens the Select Block Diagram window so that you can select the appropriate diagram. For more information, see Select Block Diagram Window.
Duration
The amount of time spent in this phase in hours, before moving on to the next phase. The values entered in this field are summed for each phase, and the total is used as the mission time. The value entered must be greater than or equal to 0.
Maintenance only phase
Indicates if in the linked diagram only maintenance only tasks are performed during this phase. When this checkbox is selected, only maintenance tasks are performed. In the task’s Maintenance Properties window, Perform during maintenance only phases indicates whether you want to start the task at the beginning of every maintenance-only phase. This checkbox, which is on the Schedule page, is applicable only for phase diagram calculations. For more information, see Schedule Page.
If a System Failure Occurs During this Phase
Indicates the action to perform if the system fails during this phase. If Maintenance only phase is selected, none of the properties beneath this heading are available. If this checkbox is cleared, the choices for what happens when a failure occurs in this phase are:
Continue the simulation normally. When selected (default), the simulation continues to run.
Terminate the simulation iteration. When selected, the simulation stops.
Go to specified phase. When selected, the simulation goes to the phase that you select in the field that becomes available to the right and continues to run.
