Mean Availability Calculations
In addition to calculating availability as described in Availability Calculations, mean availability can be calculated. Mean availability is viewed as the average availability over a specified time interval. In the following formula for mean availability, the start time of the computation is used as the starting point of the interval. Numerical methods are used to compute the integral.
Where:
A M(t 1 , t 2) = The mean availability of the system in the time interval t 1 and t 2.
A(t) = The availability of the system at time t.
t 1 and t 2 = The starting and ending points of the time interval.
